Whirlpool usually locates the heating element on the back of dryer must remove back of dryer or under the drum must remove front dryer.
Dryer is turning the drum but there is no heat to dry the clothes.
Ensure that gas is flowing throughout the house.
Check the circuit breaker fuses.
A bad dryer heating element will have a break in the coil.
In electric dryers heat is generated by the heating element.
Follow the steps in order below to fix your dryer that will not heat.

If there s little airflow your venting likely needs to be cleaned or replaced.
If the element is defective then it will not heat.
You can test your heating element with a multi meter to see if it is the source of your dryer s coolness.
This fault can be caused by a multitude of different components that may have failed.
Electricity heats the wire air flows through the chamber to become hot and the hot air dries your clothes.
It is not uncommon for only one fuse or breaker to trip resulting in the dryer able to run but not heat.
Go to the exhaust vent outside and use your hand to verify that the air is very warm and exiting at a decent flow.
Heating element coils look like stretched out door springs.
If your dryer is electric it will have a heating element consisting of a metal chamber containing a coil of heating wire.
The circuit breaker could have partially tripped even if it does not look as though it has.
This is the most common cause of a dryer not heating.
Put your dryer on power on and run the heat test again.
To check if your venting is clogged start a timed dry on high heat.
Use another gas unit to test if gas is runing in the house.
It can also be the result of a clogged dryer vent hose.
Electric dryers need two legs of 120 volts ac equaling 240 volts.
Turn off the breaker to the dryer and turn it back on to restore full power.
Electric current flowing through the coil creates heat and the air being pulled through the chamber absorbs this heat.
Be certain to disconnect power from dryer.
If your dryer is not heating then you may have an incoming power problem.
